Developing audiences, creating new relationships & breaking down boundaries

// Overview
We were approached by the New Wolsey Theatre to work on a two-part ground-breaking touring project. As part of the Project we were commissioned to develop a website which would:
– Be fully accessible to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing users
– Be fully accessible to blind or partially sighted users
– Be easily navigated on various portable devices
– Display content in a readable manner without compromising on user experience.

// Solution
Putting to use a flexible and editable CMS, we were able to create a website which the agents at An Agent for Change could easily add to and edit content going forwards.
We developed a way for the team to share resources where visitors will be able find out how to be more accessible, how to embed change in their organisation, how to find support & how to make small steps to success. We also developed a way for guest bloggers, event managers and agents for change to post their stories / news for approval.
We followed best coding practices (WCAG 2.0 (Level AA)) to ensure the site conforms to accessibility guidelines. We also integrated a handy toolbar from ReciteMe for those in need of accessibility tools to enhance the website. The toolbar features a narrator, font size adjuster, theme changer, ruler, magnifying glass and much more.
Finally we ensured that the site was useable and performed well across the broad spectrum of devices and browsers.
