Signaling a step change in disability arts provision in the UK...

// Overview
We were approached by the New Wolsey Theatre to work on a two part ground-breaking touring project. As part of the Project we were commissioned to develop a website which would:
– Be fully accessible to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing users
– Be fully accessible to blind or partially sighted users
– Be easily navigated on various portable devices
– Display content in a readable manner without compromising on user experience.

// Solution
Putting to use a flexible and editable CMS, we were able to create a website which the team at Ramps on the Moon could easily add to and edit content going forwards.
We developed a way for the team to share the upcoming tours, providing them with features to display galleries, videos and biographical information on the cast, crew and creative team behind each performance. The website demonstrates where each performance can be viewed and where tickets can be purchased.
We followed best coding practices (WCAG 2.0 (Level AA)) to ensure the site conforms to accessibility guidelines. We also integrated a handy toolbar from ReciteMe for those in need of accessibility tools to enhance the website. The toolbar features a narrator, font size adjuster, theme changer, ruler, magnifying glass and much more.
Finally we ensured that the site was useable and performed well across the broad spectrum of devices and browsers.
